On July 2, 1997, at 0156 hrs., companies responded to a fire reported at 135 Claremont Avenue, which was an occupied 2 1/2 story frame house. Engine Company 8 arrived on the scene at 0159 hrs. The fire spread to adjacent houses and the incident progressed to a 5th alarm fire at 0240 hrs. Units remained on the scene until 0653 hrs.
