 3 Alarm Fire at 559 Garfield Avenue

 

On December 8, 1997, at 1324 hrs., companies responded to a fire reported at 559 Garfield Avenue, which was an occupied three story frame house. Engine Company 22 arrived on the scene at 1324 hrs. Engine 22 saw heavy smoke in the area and upon arrival found heavy fire spreading from 559 Garfield to 557, 561 and 563 Garfield Avenue. The fire progressed to a 3 alarm fire at 1313 hrs. The Red Cross offered assistance to 25 residents left homeless.
