Jersey City
On Wednesday, January 26th at 1:00 p.m., the Learning Community Charter School, together with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hudson County will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate new classrooms and offices for the school. Mayor Bret Schundler will cut the ribbon and Ward E Councilman Mariano Vega will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Tours of the school and of the Boys & Girls Club after school facilities will be available.
"The Learning Community Charter School has been an essential part of the Jersey City community for the past three years. By offering an alternative to public education, they are providing parents in our community with the power to choose what is best for their child. I wish the faculty, staff and students at The Learning Community Charter School the best of luck in all their future endeavors. They truly add to our "Slice of Heaven" in Jersey City," said Mayor Bret Schundler.
The Learning Community Charter school was founded three years ago and is located on 1 Canal Street in Downtown Jersey City. Students from kindergarten to fifth grade may apply for admission into the school. The school is now accepting applications for the 2000-2001 school year. For more information on The Learning Community Charter School, please call (201) 332-0900.
