On Thursday, May 31, 2001, at 1:00 p.m., Council President Tom DeGise and Police Director Michael Moriarty will showcase Jersey City's 16 new police patrol vehicles. These vehicles will help community police officers become more mobile in their efforts to patrol city parks, malls and neighborhoods.
"To add to our successes in fighting crime this past decade, we will continue to upgrade Jersey City's police force with the very best equipment to ensure the safety and quality of life for all our citizens," stated Council President Tom DeGise.
The new police patrol vehicles are manufactured with state of the art equipment, enhancing such areas as the electrical system, brakes, suspension and overall performance.
